Exceptional Minds is thrilled to kick off our
1st Annual Exceptional Minds 5K Run/Walk
When: December 8, 2019
- 8:30am: Check-in
- 9am: Group Warm-up/Entertainment
- 10am: Race Starts
- 11:30am: Winners Announced/wrap up

What: A chip timed race to raise funds for our professional training academy and working studio for individuals with autism
- For race participants $25 fee to register individually and we are asking each participant to raise at least $200 from their peer network for this amazing organization

Why Support Exceptional Minds?
Exceptional Minds is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit professional academy and digital arts/animation studio for artists and animators on the autism spectrum. Our academy trains students in the technical and work readiness skills required for employment in the entertainment industry fields of visual effects and animation. Staffed by graduate artists, our studio contracts for visual effects, animation, and gaming projects. Exceptional Minds’ goal is empowering people with autism to achieve their full professional potential and leading in the transformation of global expectations regarding their capabilities.
We have taught 1,069 class participants (young adults, teens, children) across all programs since the opening of our professional training academy in 2011. We serve an average of 250 students and artists per year.
Exceptional Minds’ professional visual effects and animation studio has completed professional contracts for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the Avenges series of blockbusters, including Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel, and the record-setting Avengers: Endgame, among others. Our artists worked on five 2019 Academy Award-nominated films, including winners Green Book, Black Panther, and First Man.
